Lindsay is a graduate of North Carolina Central University where she received her Masters of Science in Communication Disorders. Prior to being a Speech Language Pathologist, she earned her Bachelors in elementary education from San Diego State University. Soon after graduating, she moved to Shanghai, China where she was an Elementary School English teacher. This is where she grew a love for working with children and a passion to help them communicate. After receiving her second Bachelors in Communication Disorders from Utah State University, and working as a Speech Language Pathology assistant in California, Lindsay moved to North Carolina to pursue her Masters Degree. Lindsay worked in a variety of settings treating diverse populations and disorders during this time.
Lindsay’s recent experience comes from working at The Virginia Institute of Autism where she grew in the areas of selecting and implementing adaptive-augmentative communication for children and teenagers with mild to severe Autism. She had the opportunity to collaborate with ABA Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Special Education teachers on a daily basis. Since then, she had the wonderful opportunity of working at Let’s Talk Speech and Language Services in Raleigh, NC. During this time, she worked with Tracy Vail and Tanya McDowell. Her experience at Let’s Talk led to learning and growing from the Let’s Talk team, as well as, broadening her experience and understanding of articulation and phonological disorders.
Lindsay has a passion for making therapy FUN, yet productive and effective. She enjoys collaborating with families and paraprofessionals in order to bridge the gap for effective carryover to the home.
Aside from working with children to grow their communication skills, Lindsay enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and exploring all the beauty that North Carolina has to offer.
